A social‑psychological condition in which individuals lose independent judgment and emotionally synchronize with a group narrative. It emerges when people experience anxiety, isolation, or identity instability and seek belonging through collective moral certainty. In this state, crowds adopt beliefs or behaviors they would not support alone, because the group provides emotional safety, identity, and purpose. Mass formation is not ideological — it is a universal human vulnerability when internal formation is weak.
