Stewardship

Stewardship is the office responsible for the care, maintenance, and long‑horizon viability of a community’s resources—material, institutional, ecological, and relational. It is the discipline of managing what one did not create but is accountable to preserve: ensuring that assets are not consumed faster than they can be renewed, that systems remain functional rather than brittle, and that future generations inherit capacity rather than debt. Stewardship rejects both hoarding and exploitation; its task is to keep the world in repair. When Stewardship fails, a society burns through its capital—moral, economic, environmental—faster than it can replenish it, leaving collapse disguised as prosperity.
